Sara Bautista

Software Developer
& Data Scientist

Sara is a Binghamton alumn. Through developing MARL's website and analyzing data, Sara is passionate about inspiring and educating through data-driven insights. She aims to bridge the gap between individuals and their health data through technology and intentional design. Concurrently, she is obtaining her Master of Computer and Information Technology from the University of Pennsylvania.

Vipul Lugade

Associate Professor
Director of the MARL

Vipul's research focuses on developing remote monitoring tools, investigating the use of body-worn sensors, assessing concussion in adolescents and fall risk in older adults, and leveraging large-scale datasets to improve disease prediction and deliver personalized interventions across diverse populations. With over 12 years of experience, Dr. Lugade has also delivered data science and software solutions to medical, academic, and engineering organizations through Control One, LLC, a company he founded. His prior experience includes a postdoctoral fellowship at the Mayo Clinic and a research appointment as an independent scholar in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Isiah Turner

Laboratory
Technician

Isiah earned a B.S in Kinesiology and a M.S in Biomechanics with a Motor Control focus. Primary interest is understanding how human movement can provide insight to performance and the development of methodology that can continue to further help understand the movements. He also has a strong interest in integrating programming into biomechanical processes while continuously looking to gain coding experience.

Natalia Gierlachowski

Natalia Gierlachowski is a is a senior psychology student with a minor in digital data studies and on a pre-occupational therapy track. Her interests include women's health advocacy. She is a member of POPTA, a club for pre-physical and occupational therapy students. She hopes to explore data collection and patient interaction at the MARL.

Monica Stapor

Monica Stapor is a senior majoring in biology on the pre-optometry track. Her focus in the lab is analyzing eye-tracking data from professional sports players. Her interests in vision science, fitness and nature reflect her commitment to a healthy lifestyle and support her long-term goal of becoming an optometrist. She hopes to use her research experience and passion for vision to provide better care for her patients. Monica plans on continuing vision research in optometry school.

Sirei Jace

Sirei Jace is a junior nursing major assisting in the MARL alongside nursing clinicals, combining the skills learned in both to help patients and participants. His interests include medicine, public health and patient care in all units of the hospital. He hopes to utilize the care and experience of nursing alongside medical diagnostic and prognostic aspects in the future.

Chelsea Christie

Chelsea Christie is a junior majoring in biology with a minor in sociology on a pre-optometry track. Her interests include health and wellness, volunteer work and art. She is vice president of the University's Pre-Optometry Association and public relations coordinator for the University's chapter of Pretty Girls Sweat. She looks forward to advancing her knowledge in the field of optometry through the MARL, particularly gaining hands-on experience with eye-tracking equipment. She is eager to explore the intersection of visual science and patient care, contributing to research that enhances an understanding of visual perception and its impact on human movement and balance.

Reese Clark

Reese Clark is a sophomore majoring in integrative neuroscience pursuing a pre-medical track. Her interests include medicine and forensic studies. She is also a counselor for Crisis Textline, an emergency line for those experiencing mental health crises.

Jack O'Neill

Jack O'Neill is a junior Integrative Neuroscience major at Binghamton University on a pre-med track. He has been a member of MARL since fall 2023. His interests include neurodegeneration and neuroimaging. He is mainly involved in the lab's research on concussions and contact sport participation on balance and gait. He is also involved in data collections with senior citizens of Broome County in the lab's fall risk assessments.

Natalia Soldinger

Natalia Soldinger is a sophomore studying biological sciences with a health and wellness studies minor. She plans to pursue a doctorate in physical therapy. Her interests include studying biomechanics, nutrition and practicing patient interactions in healthcare. She hopes to connect her background in biology, EMS and research to improve her hands-on patient interactions.

Leandra Kalra

Leandra Kalra is studying integrative neuroscience and plans to pursue a doctorate of physical therapy after graduation. Her passions include human movement and working with older adults. She is a member of POPTA and also works for some of the biology laboratories on campus.
